– How to cultivate a child who prays

” And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 15 Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” Mark 10:13- 15

It is not always easy explaining truths of the bible to young minds.

In the last seven or so years since becoming a mom I have found some things that really help cultivate my sons and their prayer lives.

Rad- Joy Crosses are an excellent tool that we use daily for the boys to write down their prayer requests and give them to the Lord.

We often talk about “giving it to God” but so frequently we choose to carry the heavy loads of life.

So, as a gesture of prayer, asking God for release, you write your burdens down…

..and physically nail them to the cross.

I know my boys are extremely visual

The boys love writing their requests down themselves and then nailing them to the cross,  after all,  we were never meant to carry them alone.

As the Lord answers our prayers,

we take them down off of this handmade wooden cross

and save them in an old mason jar.

Often we will go through our prayer requests and look at how the Lord has remained faithful to us.

Another way I help the boys along their prayer journey,

is to be a praying person myself !

Kids often times do exactly as we do, and when they see me start and end my day in prayer they usually mimic me!

Rad- Joy is a husband and wife team that stepped out in faith to follow their dreams. They graciously have given my followers only a coupon code for their amazing crosses !
